INTRODUCTION In all limit equilibrium methods of slope calculation, most of the calculations confirm the shape of the slip surface based on the analysis of the failure mode of the slope, except for a few cases where the slip surface position can be clearly identified. However, all of them have encountered the problem of how to determine the slip surface. In the traditional calculation, the grid method is usually adopted. For example, when the sliding surface is confirmed as a circular arc shape, it is considered that the center of the sliding surface is within a certain range, and the range is divided into grids (FIG. 1). The calculation of the center of the sliding surface at each full coefficient has one
