By the joint efforts of nine scientists from China and France, a total of 12 heat flow data of two batches were measured in September 1982 for the first time in Yamdroj Lake and Pumong Lake in southern Tibet. Sheep Lake and Pu Lake are located 90 km southwest of Lhasa and 130 km above sea level, respectively, with an elevation of 4440 meters and 5008 meters respectively. Both of the structures are located in the northern Himalayan deformed dolomitic belt and consist of supergene metamorphic sedimentary rocks such as Cretaceous-Jurassic (Sheep Lake) and Triassic (Puhu) slate, shale and phyllite. In some areas Granite exposed. Yang Lake, the CPC arranged three sampling stations, access to the core about 13 meters, together with the sample taken from the wall, made a total of 72 thermal conductivity
