This paper argues that two versions of the version of the Dream of Red Mansions translation in the title of each have their advantages and disadvantages, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Literary translation learners will surely benefit from comparing the two versions, drawing on each other’s strengths and abandoning their shortcomings.
