On July 11, the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention informed that in June the city reported a total of 10 922 cases of statutory reported infectious diseases and 13 deaths. The reported number of Category B infectious diseases increased by 13.42% as compared with the same period of last year. The number of Type C infectious diseases decreased by 31.7% as compared with the same period of last year. The prevalence of influenza was 58.84% less than that of the previous period and the number of other infectious diarrhea increased by 21.71% compared with the previous period. Hand-foot-mouth disease cases were 2 123 cases, up by 66.64% compared with the previous season. The future is still in the high incidence of hand-foot-mouth disease.
