A magnetic two-dimensional geomagnetic instrument that calculates the precise angular position is provided. The magnetic sensor module consists of two orthogonal one-dimensional metallic glass / piezoceramic sensors. The sensor’s signal is excited and detected by a homemade digital lock-in amplifier. In order to plot the output sensor signal, normalization is performed in the operating module. This simple, low-cost geomagnetic instrument can be used in conjunction with a mobile radio transceiver to automatically determine and control the direction of the radio transceiver antenna relative to the geostationary satellite position.
