我们这四种期刊,是由中国数学会,中国物理学会,中国化学会和中国植物学会及中国动物学会分别产生编辑委员会主编的,得到中央人民政府文化教育委员会的指示和中华全国自然科学专门学会联合会的领导,决定加以调整,使之成为指导各种中等学校自然科学教学的刊物,这种刊物,以中等学校教师及大学,中学学生为主要对象。其主要任务是帮助教师的教学,结合科学教学进行思想教育,并有系统地介绍各种科学知识。
