On September 3, Sun Xianze, deputy director of the State Food and Drug Administration(SFDA), was present in the meeting of launching the project of “research into the Chinese medical industry policies”. This is the first time for Sun Xianze to take part in public activity as the deputy director of the SFDA. On September 7, Sun Xianze led a team to Tianjin to take part in the meeting of examining and accepting the clinic information control system.
Sun Xianze was born in June 1957. He began his career in June 1975 and then finished his academic study from the Chinese Medicine University in January 1982. He once worked as the pharmaceutical engineer of the Chengdu No. 1 Pharmaceutical Company, director, assistant to the factory director. The he worked in the gov- ernment as the head of the Management Department of the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Food and Drug, and deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Food and Drug. Later he was moved to the SFDA as the heads of the Good Safety Coordination, Food Safety Supervision and Drug Safety Supervision.
In March 2009, the central government punished government officials with malpractice in the Sanlu Milk Powder scandal. Sun Xianze, who then was the head of the Food Safety Supervision, was forbidden promotion within 12 months.
In July 2011, Sun Xianze replaced Xiao Yan as the Information Director of the SFDA. In September 2012, he was promoted to the deputy director of the SFDA.
