“盛世人瑞”马寅初先生,生于1882年即清光绪八年五月九日午时,生时适逢马年、马月、马日、马时、又姓马,可谓“五马奇人”。他一生经历了三个朝代,跨越一个世纪,在现代文化名人中,可谓极为罕见。五十年代初,先生因针对我国的经济与人口发展,提出了“新人口论”的理论而声震寰宇。但他也因此而频遭厄运,被戴上无数顶“帽子”,平白无辜地吃了二十多年的苦头。但这位为人耿介、浑身是胆的海内外闻名的经济学家,在快到百岁高龄之时,终于看到自己所坚持的真理,获得了最后胜利。
