M1907 Ross - Steyr pistol designer is the Czech designer Karl Kronka. Karl Kronka, in collaboration with George Rose, started an ammunition manufacturing company in Vienna, Austria, and named it Ross. In 1900, Karenka developed a hand-held pistol for the civilian market and named it Rose-Steyr pistol under the name Ross. In 1905, Karenka improved on the basis of a Rose Steyr pistol and developed a military version that was adopted by the Austro-Hungarian cavalry forces in 1907 under the name of the M1907 Rose Steyr pistol. Since Rose was a single ammunition manufacturer and had no ability to produce firearms, the Austro-Hungarian government purchased the production rights to the M1907 Rose Steyr pistol and ordered the Austrich Cops Factory in Steyr, Austria And located in Hungary
