钱塘才女陈小翠于1917-1927年间先后发表了五部杂剧和一部传奇,这些剧作以梦、诗、花、仙等传统戏曲的叙事要素为重要艺术手段,表达婚恋反思和自我呈现的主题,融入了作者对于清末民初转折时代的特殊感受、传达出新的时代精神。作为明清女性戏曲创作历史链条末尾的重要一环,陈小翠的剧作也体现出与明清尤其是近代女性戏曲传统的承接,是日渐衰落的传奇杂剧创作在民初不容忽视的回响。
In 1917-1927, Qiantang talented woman Chen Xiaocuo published five series and a legend successively. These plays use the narrative elements of traditional opera such as dream, poem, flower and celestial being an important artistic means to express the theme of reflection and self-presenting of marriage and love. It incorporates the author’s special feelings about the transitional period from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic to a new era and conveyed a new spirit of the times. As an important part of the historical chain at the end of Ming and Qing dynasties, drama of Chen Xiaocui also embodies the acceptance of the tradition of the female drama in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially the decline of the legendary zaju in the early Republic of China.
