After two and a half years of design and construction, the Peña Colorado Concentrator on the western coast of Mexico went into production in early 1975 and is a joint venture of Mexican steel mills. Before the founding of the factory, a series of experiments and detailed studies were conducted so as to obtain the most complete technical and economic solution. The first priority is site selection, ore and concentrate ore transportation, the best method for ore grinding, and the most economical program for the mines. This article describes the plant and its characteristics. Produced by the group sent to blast furnace melting or direct reduction plant.
