一、基本情况东边大队属上高县徐家渡公社,位于赣湘公路南侧,距上高县城三十公里,锦河在北部边境流过,大队所在地东边村是一居住比较集中的农村,四周都是农田,形成一片地势较为平坦的小平原,海拔高程70米左右。南边田界以外丘陵起伏,山垄间散布些小块农田,低山表层多为红壤,厚数米,复以草本植被,以及一些松杉幼林,远处连接高山,多石灰岩,地下水源丰富。上高地处赣中,气象条件相当于江西省一般地区,当地多年平均降雨量1640毫米(最高2126毫米,最低1106毫米),全年平均气温17.4℃,日照1646小时,无霜期269天。
