人们早已知道,某些微量金属元素具有在沉积岩石中的铀矿床周围形成晕的趋势。作者在得克萨斯西部野外就观察到了这种关系而且特别注意到了铀矿体周围的钼、铜晕。微量金属元素在探查一定类型的火山成因铀矿床方面证明是很有用的。它可以作为一种地球化学手段,用以确定火山地层中铀矿床的位置。
It has long been known that certain trace metal elements have the tendency to faint around uranium deposits in sedimentary rocks. The authors observed this relationship in the wild west of Texas and took particular note of the molybdenum and copper halo around the uranium ore body. Trace metal elements have proven useful in probing certain types of volcanic-origin uranium deposits. It can be used as a geochemical means to determine the location of uranium deposits in volcanic formations.
