DCN and Thomson are the two major suppliers of the French Navy’s combat system. The systems of these two companies have been equipped with their submarines by the Navy in several countries. For more than a decade, both companies have been involved in the development and improvement of long-range integrated combat systems, including those with long-range weapons such as submarine-launched missiles. During this period they had gained some experience and were supplemented by sea trials, and they also received some helpful advice from French naval commanders. Therefore, the final operational system provided by the two companies to the market is excellent because it combines aspects of the remote capabilities at sea.
