《大学英语教学大纲》把“培养学生具有较强的阅读能力”,放在听、说、读、写四项基本能力的首位,说明它在英语学习中的重要性。所以培养学生的阅读能力是大学英语的主要教学目标。而学生掌握词汇量的多少,直接影响阅读能力的提高。词汇是语言三要素之一,词汇量的多少,与阅读、理解、表达有着密切联系。所以扩大学生词汇量是提高阅读理解能力的关键,词汇教学起着举足轻重的作用。在教学过程中,改进词汇记忆法,扩大词汇储量,掌握辨认和应用词语的技巧,就可以提高词汇学习的效率。
The Syllabus for College English puts “cultivating students a strong reading ability” in the first place of the four basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, indicating its importance in English learning. Therefore, cultivating students’ reading ability is the main teaching goal of College English. The number of students to master the vocabulary, a direct impact on the improvement of reading ability. Vocabulary is one of the three elements of language, the amount of vocabulary, and reading, understanding, expression is closely linked. Therefore, expanding the vocabulary of students is the key to improve reading comprehension, vocabulary teaching plays a decisive role. In the process of teaching, improving vocabulary learning, expanding vocabulary reserves, mastering the skills of identifying and applying words can improve the efficiency of vocabulary learning.
