姚江桥是一座修建在粘土地基上的石拱桥,位在浙江余姚县城区西门姚江上,桥的结构为三孔10米跨径的半圆式拱桥,全长43.18米,宽8.7米。姚江为甬江的支流,潮水河,河床土质经用手钻钻取河底9米深的扰动土样和挖取基坑底(河底下2米深)的原状土样进行实验,土质为均匀的砂质粘土。在粘土地基上修建石拱桥,必须解决地基承载力不足和地基不均匀沉陷及大问题。为了克服没有钢筋水泥的情况,在县委和交通厅重视支持下,依靠群众,吸取以前的经验,从观察民间的老石拱桥着手,利用附近旧牌坊坟墓石料,在粘土地基上修建了石拱桥,从沉陷观测情况看来是成功的。
Yao Jiangqiao is a stone arch bridge built on clay foundation. It is located on the west gate of Yaojiang in the urban area of Yuyao, Zhejiang.
