随着我国改革开放的不断加深,全球化经济和信息化时代的到来,我国与世界其他各国交流、接触越来越频繁,英语逐渐成为世界通用语言。因此,英语的教学水平对我国经济发展和构建社会主义和谐社会发挥着特殊的作用。21世纪是一个科技竞争、信息竞争和资源竞争的时代,归根结底是人才的竞争,尤其是英语能力强的人才竞争。因此,提高大学英语教学水平是我国教育亟需面对的重要问题之一。
With the continuous deepening of China’s reform and opening up and the advent of globalization and information age, China has become more and more frequent with more exchanges with other countries in the world. English has gradually become the common language in the world. Therefore, the teaching level of English plays a special role in China’s economic development and in building a socialist harmonious society. The 21st century is an era of competition in science and technology, competition for information and resources. In the final analysis, it is the competition for talents, especially the competition for talents with strong English proficiency. Therefore, raising the level of college English teaching is one of the most important issues facing our country’s education.
