南斯拉夫位于欧洲南部的巴尔干半岛上,具地中海式温和大陆性气候,耕地结构好,平原地区多为肥沃的黑钙土,主要种植玉米、小麦、马铃薯、甜菜和向日葵等作物,其中玉米面积约占全国耕地面积的四分之一.南斯拉夫玉米主要分布在萨瓦河、多瑙河流域,主要产区是塞尔维亚、克罗地亚和波斯尼亚,每年播种面积在3,800万亩左右,总产量1946年为214万吨,1978年为755.5万吨,单产则由每公顷10.4公担提高到35公担.
Yugoslavia is located in the Balkan Peninsula in southern Europe. It has a Mediterranean-type mild continental climate and has a good cultivated land structure. Most of the plains are fertile chernozem and mainly produce crops such as corn, wheat, potatoes, beets and sunflowers, of which maize area accounts for One-fourth of the country’s arable land. Yugoslavia is mainly found in the Sava and Danube rivers. The main producing areas are Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia. The annual sown area is 38 million mu and the total output was 2.14 million tons in 1946. The annual output was 7.555 million tons and the yield per hectare increased from 10.4 to 35.5 hectares.
