On October 10， 2019， China published a plan on advancing a national pilot program for the integration of industry and education. Integration of industry and education refers to vocational schools actively feeding industries by providing professionals and technologies. By integrating industry with teaching， the program aims to help schools transform into entities that integrate talent training， scientific research and technological services.
According to the plan， around 50 pilot cities will carry out trials of integrating industry and education over the next five years， and a batch of industries with distinctive regional characteristics integrating industry and education will be built. The country vows to cultivate more than 10，000 enterprises under the pilot program during the period and stresses building an enterprise system that integrates industry and education and a mechanism of combined incentive policies.
Integration of industry and education builds deep collaboration between academia and enterprises to improve the quality of talent training.
