Different nationalities, different times, have different values. Deng Xiaoping’s values, at the same root as the nation and at the same time as the times, are the essence of the contemporary Chinese nation. This paper attempts to analyze the logical structure of Deng Xiaoping’s values. 1. “Economic Construction” Is the Value Principle of Deng Xiaoping’s Values Taking economic construction as the center, this is the fundamental task of socialism. Historical materialism holds that the production of material data is the basis for the existence and development of human society. Productivity is the ultimate deciding force for all social development. Only the production relations and superstructure adapt to the conditions of the productive forces can promote the development of productive forces.
