The accurate measurement of the size and concentration of aerosols and droplets of natural (or artificial) fog in the air is a major challenge in the application of physics and meteorology. All the measurement methods adopted by the industry have many disadvantages and inconsistent results, with the most difficulty being the measurement of the size distribution and concentration of water fog droplets. Gucker et al. Have designed photocells that record up to 1,000 particles of solid or colloidal particles more than 0.6 microns in diameter per minute, and are not suitable for use with water droplets and any suspended aerosol with greater concentration. This article describes the photoelectric drop count
