北京居住着回、维吾尔、哈萨克等十个少数民族大约25万穆斯林群众。北京市委、市政府始终尊重穆斯林群众的信仰习惯,多年来一直致力于回民公墓的建设。自1972年投入使用以来,截至2010年左右,北京市回民公墓已埋葬信仰伊斯兰教10个少数民族亡人3万余人。但是,随着形势的发展和少数民族亡人数量的增加,回民公墓备用地成为迫切需要解决的难题。
Beijing is home to about 250,000 Muslims in 10 ethnic minorities such as Uyghurs and Kazakhs. Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have always respected the religious beliefs of the Muslim people and have been devoted to the construction of the Muslim cemetery for many years. Since it was put into use in 1972, as of 2010 or so, the Muslim cemetery in Beijing has buried more than 30,000 people and killed 10 ethnic minorities who believe in Islam. However, with the development of the situation and the increase in the number of ethnic minorities dead, the cemetery of Hui people became an urgent problem to be solved.
