On the basis of replicating rat model of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, we used mild hypothermia as a therapeutic measure to observe the protective effect of mild hypothermia on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and its effect on oxygen free radicals. The results showed that sub-low temperature (33 ℃, 30 ℃) could reduce cerebral edema, reduce the production of MDA and protect the activity of SOD in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, especially at 30 ℃. The results suggest that mild hypothermia has a protective effect on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and increases with the deepening of the degree of hypothermia; meanwhile, it is suggested that the inhibition of free radical production and protection of SOD activity may be one of the mechanisms of hypothermia protection
