The use of prophylactic antibiotics has long been controversial. This article reviews the evaluation of otolaryngologists’ use of prophylactic antibiotics. The method is to send questionnaires to 153 doctors in Britain, which contains four parts. The first three parts include ear, nose and paranasal sinuses and head and neck surgery. The latter part is an additional comment on the application of the aforementioned antibiotics. The first three are divided into two, the former is the type and amount of antibiotics used, and the latter is the detailed usage of antibiotic therapies. Results: Of the 153 questionnaires, 119 were returned, of which 108 were for analysis.
