本报讯广东省邮电管理局的内部互联网络——广东邮电信息网系统于近日开始一期工程的建设,3Com 为该系统提供了全面的网络设备。广东省邮电管理局是国内一家大型的省级邮电单位,覆盖范围广,其直属单位很多,业务往来频繁,建立内联网的需求日益强烈,因此于1996年即开始规划建立这个信息网。在选型工作中,广东邮电管理局对投标厂商就其 ATM 产品对标准的支持情况和开通虚拟网的能力等方面提出了高要求。经过专家多方认证,3Com 最终凭借雄厚的技术实力和完善的技术服务体系成为该项目的设备提供者。该网络采用将传统的路由技术和 ATM 交换技术相结合的建设思想,保持与原有网络设备兼容、同时为未来
