美国密执根大学的研究人员正在研究用于癌症治疗的纳米药物。纳米药物的分子直径小于5纳米,能穿越细胞膜。科学家让纳米药物分子携带叶酸和一种荧光剂。因为癌细胞对叶酸摄取量非常大(叶酸可用于细胞的复制),在癌细胞膜上的叶酸接受器是健康细胞的1000倍,所以研究人员利用叶酸将抗癌的纳米药物分子导入癌细胞中,并通过荧光剂进行跟踪观察。实验发现,注射了纳米药物的老鼠其存活时间远远长于那些使用普通药物进行抗癌治疗的老鼠,其体内癌细胞的发展被延缓了30天,这相当于人类的三年。
Researchers at the University of Michigan at the United States are investigating nanomedicines for cancer therapy.
