“今日中国美术”这一综合艺术活动,是由郭晓川策划并自1999年10月启动的具有持续性的大型学术活动,包括着出版、展览、学术研讨以及普及宣传与教育诸方面。据策划者讲,活动的宗旨是“本着客观、公正的学术精神,全面、连续和动态地反映1990年以后的当代中国美术走向,密切关注当代中国美术的发展与动向,并从美术断代史的角度揭示其内在结构。”2002年3月5日,出版了中、英双语版《今日中国美术》(Ⅰ、Ⅱ巷),入编作者达900余人,涵盖了中国画,油画、版画、雕塑、水粉水彩和实验艺术6个种类。策划者称,《今日中国美术大展》是这个活动的延续。 我们认为,在目前较多的展览和出版活动中,“今日中国美术”的出发点、立足点、运作模式及其选题,均有较强的特点。这里发表的访谈,希望能够对美术出版史、展览史和美术理论的研究与考察,以及展览策划工作提供一定的参考资料,同时也将有助于读者了解这次展览的性质和情况。
The comprehensive art activity of “Today’s Chinese Art” is a large-scale and sustained academic project curated by Guo Xiaochuan and launched in October 1999, including publishing, exhibitions, academic research and popularizing publicity and education. According to the planners, the purpose of the activity is “to fully, continuously and dynamically reflect the trend of contemporary Chinese art after 1990 with the objective and impartial academic spirit, pay close attention to the development and trend of contemporary Chinese art, From the perspective of revealing its internal structure. ”On March 5, 2002, Chinese and English bilingual versions of Today’s Chinese Fine Arts (Ⅰ, Ⅱ Lane) were published and compiled by more than 900 authors, covering Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, Gouache watercolor and experimental art 6 species. The planner said that “Today’s Art Exhibition in China” is a continuation of this activity. In our opinion, in the current exhibitions and publishing activities, the starting point, foothold, mode of operation and selection of topics of “Chinese art today” all have strong characteristics. The interviews published here hope to provide some references for the research and study on art publishing history, exhibition history and art theory, as well as exhibition planning work. At the same time, it will also help readers to understand the nature and circumstances of the exhibition.
