第一次见白先勇先生是在新浪网,那是2004年的6月22日,我当时还在一个电影杂志做编辑。一天,看到白先勇做客新浪的消息,就跑了去。当时人很多,我问了十多个问题,主持人选择了三个,我还高兴得不得了。后来,我离开电影杂志,到一份生活类的杂志做编辑,于是就有了这第二次晤面。白先生给我的感觉是温和,但这种温和又和余光中不同,余光中是诗人,比较清瘦,而白先勇更象一个学者,显得富态。跟他说话很自在,他不会盛气凌人,只会望着你,跟你打手势,面慈心善。感觉白先勇还是很中国的,他的小说,写中国人,用外国技艺,但归根结底还是中国的,所以他说:我是中国传统文化的拥趸。
