六部,即尚书六部,自隋、唐开始为朝廷行政机构。东汉置尚书台,辅佐皇帝处理政事,魏晋以后,尚书台从少府中独立出来,并改称为尚书省,成为中央执行政务的总机关,分曹治事。以后尚书各曹逐渐演变为部。隋仿《周礼》六官,尚书省分吏、祠、度支、左户、都官、五兵六部。唐改祠部为礼部,度支为户部,左户为工部,都官为刑部,五兵为兵部。各部以尚书、侍郎为正、副长官。每部又各设四司,总共二十四司,以郎中、员
