《朱竹垞先生杜诗评本》被学界当作朱彝尊的杜诗学论著,时见研究引及或著录。通过对清华大学图书馆所藏原刻本进行考辨,可知卷首《朱竹垞先生原跋》实为抄撮何焯《义门读书记》而成的伪文,且落款亦与朱彝尊生平行止不合。陈衍《石遗室诗话续编》中记载了朱评过录本的流传情况,并对《评本》的真确性提出质疑。将《朱竹垞先生杜诗评本》与刘濬《杜诗集评》所收录朱彝尊评语相比较,并无一条相同。综合观之,可考定题为朱彝尊评点的《朱竹垞先生杜诗评本》系伪托之作。
