(一).基本情况和做法我省创建文明图书馆竞赛活动是从1984年开始的。为加强公共图书馆的思想建设和业务建设,充分发挥图书馆在两个文明建设中的作用,提高图书馆的社会地位,我厅参考长沙、湘潭、株洲三地区图书馆协作片开展读者工作竞赛的经验和根据中央关于“普遍地、扎实地开展建设城乡各种文明单位”的指示,于1984年4月发出了《关于建设文明图书馆开展优质服务竞赛活动的通知》,逐级召开会议,研究布置工作,一个以提高读者服务工作质量为中心内容的创建文明图书馆竞赛活动蓬勃开展起来。
