近年来,人们一提起“爵士音乐”就厌恶反感,嗤之以鼻,并总是把它和“黄色音乐”、“靡靡之音”一类不健康的东西联系起来看待,并加以彻底痛斥。我认为,对于这种有国际资本做后盾、世界广大群众趋之若鹜的轻音乐,应当对它的历史原因、社会基础及群众条件有所认识,至少持有一个实事求是的客观分析的态度。“爵士音乐”是十九世纪末、二十世纪初产生的一种世界性的艺术现象。它本质上渊源于美国的黑人民间音乐,其中包括黑人劳动歌曲、宗教的“灵歌”和舞蹈音乐。此外,还掺杂了英国、爱尔兰、西班牙、法国民歌小调的音乐因素。可以说,“爵士音乐”植根于人民生活的土壤,具有浓郁的群众性、通俗性。关于“爵士音乐”一词的由来,
