成都十二中是四川省首批办好的重点学校。该校自1971年恢复代表队训练,1979年在全省率先试办了体育班,1982年被定为省田径传统项目训练点学校,1988年又被定为培养优秀体育后备人才试点学校。为了搞好优秀体育后备人才培养的试点工作,学校领导统一认识,把试点工作作为学校的一件大事来抓: 一、组织落实。建立试点领导小组,协调学校各部门关系,统筹运动队的工作。校长任试点领导小组组长,成员有分管体卫工作的副校长,体卫、教务、政教、总务处各一名主任和体育教研组组长、运动队的总教练、校医。试点的日常工作由体卫处负责。试点运动队分一队和二队。一队队员的运动成绩达二级运动员标准或接近标准,新生一般为二队。一
