以京欣1号为代表的京欣系列西瓜品种,以其品质好、成熟早等特点受到广大瓜农和消费者的欢迎,在以昌乐为代表的保护地西瓜栽培中占到总面积的1/3以上。针对京欣系列品种易裂果、不耐运输、皮色单调的特点,河北省新乐市种子有限公司与中国农科院、大兴县农科所等单位合作,育成抗裂京欣和黑皮京欣两个品种。前者2000年4月4日通过河北省品种审定委员会审定,并获得1999年大兴西瓜节京欣类型评比一等奖,已在山东部分地区推广;后者是国内京欣类型中唯一的黑皮品种,也是为数不多的早熟黑皮品种之一,利用前景广阔。

The latter is the only black variety in Beijing Xinxin type , Is also one of the few precocious black varieties, the use of broad prospects.
