We had just finished accommodation in a high-rise building on West 42nd Street and got a call from Miss Wu on the 9th floor in our room: she will pick us up for Connecticut at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning. Our windows are facing the 102-floor Empire State Building, where the spire of the skyscraper is shone with light. Other high and low building windows are all lit, colorful advertising lights is shining non-stop. Music sound, car sound, when far away. This is indeed a sleepless city. We opened the map and found our place close to Broadway. When it was over, the three of us took to the streets in preparation for a grand ceremony on Broadway at this very early morning. At seven o’clock, the streets in Beijing are already lively, but it seems that New Yorkers are all still asleep now. Street garbage unmanned, the whole
