Lado, a famous linguist, once pointed out: “We can’t teach languages without having a cultural background. Language is a part of culture. Therefore, if you don’t understand the patterns and norms of culture, you can’t really learn the language.” Different cultures have differences in their values, lifestyles, ways of thinking, and social norms. The English Curriculum Standards clearly states that in foreign language teaching, culture refers to the country’s history, geography, customs, traditions, lifestyle, literature and art,
