我省扫除文盲和业余教育工作,1958年取得了巨大的成绩。扫除文盲二百四十余万,相等于过去八年脱盲总和的五倍。大量举办了业余小学,并且业余中学和业余大学也较前大大增多。工农文化水平的提高和科学知识的增长,对于发展生产有着很大的推动作用。但是,全省尚有一百五十多万青壮年文盲需要继续扫除,大量的脱盲学员还有待于提高,因之,必须继续认真贯彻省委三年扫除文盲的决定,迅速掀起一个轰轰烈烈、扎扎实实的群众性的学习运动,力争年底基本扫除青壮年文盲,并且积极做好脱盲后的巩固提高工作。现作如下通知,请各地认真贯彻执行。
In 1958, our province swept away illiteracy and amateur education and made great achievements. More than 2.4 million illiterates were eradicated, equivalent to five times the total number of literate persons in the past eight years. A large number of amateur primary schools held, and amateur secondary schools and amateur university greatly increased. The improvement of the cultural level of workers and peasants and the growth of scientific knowledge have a great impetus to the development of production. However, more than 1.5 million young and middle-aged illiterates in the province still need to continue to be wiped out and a large number of students with debrets need to be improved. Therefore, we must continue to conscientiously implement the decision of the provincial party committee to eliminate illiteracy in the past three years and promptly launch a vigorous Solid mass learning movement and strive to basically eradicate illiteracy among young and middle-aged people by the end of the year and actively consolidate and improve their work after their debeldment.
