红江橙近年来在广东得以大面积发展,因其外观漂亮、肉红汁多、皮薄化渣、甜酸适中、蜜味浓、风味独特,深受消费者欢迎。但红江橙种子特别多(平均达20粒),如果不改良多核性状,就很难继续在国内外市场上与其他优良甜橙竞争。为此,我们从1978年开始进行红江橙辐射育种研究,现已育出能够应用于生产的无核红江橙。 一、辐射处理及初选 1978年11月在廉江县红江农场,选择果大、丰产、品质优良的单株采枝条进行辐射处理,辐射后立即嫁接。1980年将辐射嫁接苗182株定植于华南农业大学果园,1983年开始
