“瓦舍”是宋明城市商品经济发展和市民文化发展需要的产物 ,它是融体育、艺术、娱乐、消闲为一身的固定综合性游乐场所 ,具有政治、经济、竞技、健身、教育、娱乐、消闲等多种社会功能 ,它的形成与发展大大地丰富了市民文化生活 ,并为现代“健身娱乐场所”的发展奠定了基础 ,随着现代社会发展和人们文化生活的需求 ,现代“健身娱乐场所”朝着多形式、内容多样化、功能多元化和娱乐设施现代化的方向发展。
