In this paper, we mainly take the dispute over the renaming of Dagu-Ilitisis-Lancel Road within the German Free University of Berlin from 1998 to 2011 as an example. One by one, this group of road names is sorted out as the “Battle of Gengzi Dagu” Victory Memorial The history of the Chinese colonial power of the William Empire contained as a dual memory of the table, the local “naval warlords” and the continuing controversy in the urban public space because of the contemporary symbol of colonialism and imperialism. The author attempts to clarify the root cause of the controversy over the reservation or removal of road names from formation to settlement by analyzing the theoretical basis and realistic background behind this seemingly regional affair, The Practical Exploration of the Meaning of Negative Collective Memory in Transition.
