Gujarat, India Fertilizer and Chemicals Company (GSFC) will collaborate technically with Swiss Enco Engineering to transform its caprolactam plant in Gujarat. In which the company will revamp the cyclohexanone process of the caprolactam plant to reduce the utility costs of intermediates and caprolactam production. A two-step process was used to produce caprolactone intermediate cyclohexanone. The benzene part was first hydrogenated and then cyclohexanol and cyclohexane were produced. GSFC will invest $ 6.2 million in Enco technology transfer and engineering services and GSFC is also planning to increase its investment to expand its caprolactam capacity from 70,000 t / a to 120,000 t / a.
