测定土壤中溶性盐总量的蒸干重量法,由于费时和需耍特殊设备,大大限制了野外应用.长期以来,许多研究者从事于盐溶液电测方法的研究,并设计了多种型式的仪器.早期的研究,主要是针对电导度与盐溶液浓度的关系、土水比的影响、过滤的影响及混和时间的影响等方面.M.L.Jackson建议采用电导法作总盐量的半定量方法.但是,盐溶液的组成对电导测定的影响很大;另外,温度影响的校正也是一个很重要的问题.为了克服组成差异的影响,有人建议制作地区性土壤含盐量与电导率的关系曲线;也有人主张配制与该地区盐分组成相接近的标准钠盐溶液,率定工作曲线,这样可以提高电测法的精确度.
