Since the 90s of the last century, Japan plunged into the quagmire of the bubble economy, the economic growth in Europe was slowing down, and the shadow of the financial crisis in Southeast Asia disappeared. In the western world, the economy of the United States shows its uniqueness with an average annual growth rate of over 4% in the past 10 years. Although the pace of U.S. economic growth slowed in the past two years, it did not show much signs of decline. The GDP growth in 2002 still reached above 2.3%, ranking the first among western developed countries. Economists claim that the prosperity of the United States is the result of the new economy brought by the network and information industry to the United States with high growth and low inflation. However, the United States is not a “new economy”. If we look at it from another perspective, from the historical context of the U.S. economic development, we will find the other side of the “new economy” that has continued to prosper for 10 years.
