China’s political civilization construction and political reform require the cooperation and promotion of the media. Conversely, the fruits of reform will also be conducive to the media’s own development. The Chinese media will play an auxiliary, protective and watchful and constructive role in the social transformation. The Chinese culture runs through and fills with the open gene “From Kaifeng to New York”. It is a commentary by Christopher, a famous columnist in the United States. It is intended to remind Americans that China is reviving and that the United States must not be arrogant. Although the essay regards Kaifeng as a caveat and warning, he acknowledged the opening and prosperity of the Song Dynasty in China. The Han, Tang and Song dynasties in China were very open, and some parts of the Ming and Qing dynasties were also open to the outside world. The so-called closed-door period, historically, is temporary and short-term.
