6月26日到7月1日,湖南省交通厅、公路运输工会在邵阳举行了有将近3,000人参加的全省养路技术革命会师大会。这次会议的目的,是为了进一步动员全省养路职工贯彻执行党的建设社会主义的总路线;鉴定推广在生产大跃进中创造的先进工具;进一步破除迷信,解放思想,树立标兵,开展以革新养路工具和养护方法为中心的技术革命,从而使养路工作土洋机械化,消灭肩挑背负,砂石达自备,解放劳动支援农村,路面保平整,适应飞速发展的运输需要,更好的支援工农业生产大跃进。
