由于现有Interent网络自身的局限性,其网络效率随着网络规模的不断扩大而急剧下降。为了建立低时延、高带宽、多服务质量的未来IP网络,提出了将具有快速交换能力的ATM与IP路由器相结合的方案。该文介绍了目前最新提出的几种解决方案:MPOA、IPSWitwh及TagSwitch的工作原理和优缺点,以及有关ATM与IP结合的实践情况。
Due to the limitations of the existing Interent network, its network efficiency drops drastically as the size of the network grows. In order to establish a future IP network with low latency, high bandwidth and multi-service quality, a solution is proposed to combine an ATM with an IP router with fast switching capability. This article introduces several solutions currently proposed: MPOA, IPSWitwh and TagSwitch work principle and advantages and disadvantages, as well as the practice of combining ATM and IP.
