Most secondary schools in the United States usually choose three tutorials in Chinese education: one is English, which focuses on grammatical knowledge. One is “Spelling,” focusing on word spelling training. There is also a “literature”, introducing a variety of topics of American literature. The object of this paper is “American Chinese” first published and published by China Women’s Publishing House in July 2008 and belongs to the section “Literature.” It has selected literary works that have broad social implications and representational significance from different times in the United States over two hundred years of history.
