自1994年夏季起,一直被杭州市西湖区列入“十大火灾隐患”单位之一的杭州净慈禅寺,经过多年努力,目前已完成火灾整改任务,并经公安消防部门验收合格。 净寺在国内外享有较高声誉,至今已有一千多年的悠久历史,是我省重点文物保护单位。该寺早在1983年4月就被国务院同意列为全国重点寺院。净寺于1986年11月修复后正式对外开放,成为杭城一大旅游景点和佛教活动场所。但是由于寺内没有消防通道,一旦发生火灾消防车不能驶入寺内扑救,因而连年被排查、评估定为重大火灾隐患单位。
