This article reviews the problems encountered with the solvent extraction hydrometallurgy plant that often result in the loss of solvent due to the formation of suspended sludge. The formation of such contaminants or stable emulsions mixed with the solids is related to the type and method of operation of the mixer used, depending on the nature and composition of the feed and solvent. Suspension mud varies by plant, so it is impossible to determine the treatment method and precautionary measures without actual test and investigation. This article summarizes all aspects that can be considered for solving the problem of suspended mud.
