在2007年1月13日浙江杭州“西泠印社”艺术品拍卖会上,晚清名流汤贻汾《爱园雅集图》画卷(纸本设色,纵47厘米、横161.5厘米)以27.5万元成交;又闻英国伦敦大英博物馆内现藏有另一件汤贻汾等人所绘的《爱园图》(纸本设色,尺幅不详),这两幅画作所展现的都是当时南京私家园林——爱园景致,因此引起了我的关注。可惜随着历史沧桑变迁,该园踪迹不存。当代著名美术史论家高居翰等在《不朽的林泉:中国古代园林绘画》著作中,尝据《爱园图》对金陵爱园做过小考。笔者在此基础上试图再通过散落尘封的历史文明碎片,对
